Pack eligible items in transparent bags, tell us anything needed for safe access, and make sure you own or are authorised to sell everything. We inspect and weigh accepted items before paying the confirmed rate. A booking request is not a guaranteed appointment or a promise that every item will be bought.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website, request a collection, or sell items to the operator of KiloCash, a cash-for-clothes service based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “KiloCash” refer to the operator of that service; “you” means the person making the booking or selling the items.
You can contact us on 07405 726180 or through WhatsApp. Please read these terms before sending a booking request. If anything is unclear, ask us before your collection is confirmed.
These terms cover a service in which KiloCash buys eligible used items from you. You are not paying us a collection fee.
2. Who may book
- Bookings and sales must be made by someone aged 18 or over.
- You must own the items or have the owner’s clear authority to sell them.
- The contact, address, access and payment information you provide must be accurate and current.
- You must not offer stolen, counterfeit, unlawfully obtained or otherwise prohibited items.
We may ask reasonable questions or decline a collection if ownership or authority is unclear.
3. Items and packing
What we normally buy
Clean, dry and reusable clothing, paired wearable shoes, and clean usable handbags. Items must be packed in transparent bags so they can be checked safely. The normal minimum is two full transparent bags.
What we do not buy
This includes bedding, duvets, pillows, curtains, towels, soft toys, electrical goods, household waste, loose mixed items, wet or heavily soiled items, badly damaged items, single shoes, or anything unsafe or unsuitable for reuse. We do not accept black bin bags, suitcases or containers we cannot inspect.
Our website lists common examples, but the collector’s assessment at collection is final. We may reject individual items or a whole collection if the items, packing, quantity or access do not meet the agreed requirements. Rejected items remain yours unless we expressly agree otherwise.
4. Rate, inspection and weighing
The currently advertised rate is 40p per kilogram for accepted items. Any calculator or bag estimate is illustrative only: bag weights and the proportion of acceptable items vary.
- We inspect items before or during weighing and pay only for the accepted weight.
- We use scales suitable for trade. For an attended collection, you may see the displayed weight and ask for a reasonable recheck before accepting payment.
- The amount is calculated from the accepted weight at the confirmed pence-per-kilogram rate and rounded to the nearest penny.
The rate we intend to use will be shown or confirmed when the appointment is arranged. If the rate needs to change before collection, we will tell you before removing any items and you may cancel. We will not reduce the agreed rate after taking possession of accepted items.
5. Booking and availability
Sending the website form opens WhatsApp with a draft request. It does not itself confirm an appointment. A slot is confirmed only when we reply and agree the collection date or window with you.
Collection areas, dates and times depend on route capacity, weather, traffic and safe access. We will try to tell you promptly if we need to reschedule. A confirmed appointment is still conditional on the items and access meeting these terms.
We may contact you using the phone number or WhatsApp account you provide to arrange, update or complete the collection. We do not use booking details for unrelated marketing unless you separately choose to receive it.
6. Collection options
Attended collection
An adult must be available at the agreed address, with the bags ready in a safe and accessible place. The collector will check and weigh eligible items with you before payment.
Contactless collection
You must place the bags in the exact agreed location on private property and send a current photo showing the bags and location. By choosing contactless collection, you give us one-time permission to enter only the area you describe, solely to inspect and collect the bags.
- Do not leave bags on a pavement, road, shared hallway or other public or common area.
- Do not send keys, alarm details, gate codes or other sensitive security information.
- Make sure the route is safe, lawful and free of uncontrolled animals or other hazards.
- We may decline to enter or collect if the location differs from the instructions or appears unsafe.
Permission ends once that collection attempt is complete. It does not allow access to any other part of the property.
7. Payment
Available methods depend on the collection type:
- Attended: cash in person or bank transfer.
- Contactless: bank transfer or a sealed cash envelope put through your letterbox. We never leave loose cash outside.
If you choose bank transfer, we may request the account-holder name, sort code and account number within the WhatsApp conversation when needed. We will never ask for a card number, PIN, CVV, password, one-time code or online-banking login.
We aim to make payment when the accepted weight is confirmed. Bank processing can occasionally be delayed by the banks or information errors. Tell us promptly if an expected payment has not arrived so we can trace or correct it.
8. Ownership and risk
Items remain yours, and at your risk, until we take possession of the accepted items and make payment by the agreed method. Ownership of accepted items then passes to KiloCash and the completed sale is final, except where the law requires otherwise.
For contactless collections, you remain responsible for the bags before our arrival, including loss, theft or weather damage. Items that we reject remain your property and responsibility. If a contactless collection contains unsuitable items, we will leave them where found when safe and lawful, or contact you to agree a reasonable next step.
9. Cancellation and missed collections
You may cancel or reschedule without a KiloCash fee at any time before we collect and pay for the items. Please tell us as early as possible by phone or WhatsApp.
We may cancel or stop a collection if the information is materially inaccurate, the minimum or packing requirements are not met, ownership is unclear, access is unsafe or unauthorised, abusive behaviour occurs, or an event outside reasonable control prevents collection. We will not owe payment for items we have not accepted and collected.
10. Safety and responsibility
Both sides must take reasonable care during a collection. You are responsible for giving accurate access instructions and warning us about hazards a visitor would not reasonably see. Our collector may leave immediately if they feel unsafe.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where the law does not allow that, including responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights. Subject to that, each side is responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of breaking these terms, but not for loss caused by inaccurate instructions, unsafe placement, or events genuinely outside reasonable control.
11. Problems and complaints
If you think the weight, rate, payment, access or service was wrong, contact us as soon as possible with your name, collection date and a clear description of the issue. We will make reasonable enquiries, keep you informed and explain the outcome.
Contact KiloCashCall, text or WhatsApp and say that you want to make a complaint.
07405 726180Complaints about personal information are handled under our Privacy Notice.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms when the service, law or operational requirements change. The version in effect when your collection is confirmed will apply to that collection; material changes will not be imposed retrospectively.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will normally deal with disputes, without taking away any mandatory rights you may have to use another UK court.
These terms should be read with the Privacy Notice and Cookie & Website Technologies Policy.
